Kids will still go to the ER on Sundays ! ! !

First time it was Wil on Mother's Day 2001 and that took 8 hours... yesterday it was Tiney and we were only there 3 hours... having Matey along MAY have sped things along ;-}
ta da ! - from my comment on Wil's food blog this morning...
"that is NOT the sound of my jaw hitting the floor, it is the sound of the ER room door closing behind us ;-Þ
Spent 3 hours there yesterday afternoon with Tami, apparently she passed her most painful stone in memory just before, or just after we got there - CT scan showed swollen kidney and ureter but no stone remaining outside a kidney, he assured her there ARE stones in both kidneys but they don't hurt until they move. Had her on a morphine drip to avoid too much effect on her nursing baby.
Since recipes with nuts in any form can only be consumed by 2 of the 5 inhabitants here - quit making them sound SO yummy ! ! !"

Moga and Matey arrived safely late Saturday evening, ...Thank you Abuelo for the awesome time, eff0rt and funding assistance... Drox and I were on time to church, lessons were great (my favorite RS teacher was teaching this week and she did a wonderful job, as always ;-) and then we made the trip to the ER.
Tiney has dealt with kidney stones since she was 5 years old but yesterday she was in more pain than she has ever experienced and the morphine took FOREVER to kick in. The CT scan found the bladder empty so she must have passed it, the ureter, although swollen all the way down to the bladder, was also clear and there are "stones" in the kidney(s) waiting to wreck future havoc - have to get better details from the urologist when we see him... Matey was in the room with us when the ER Dr was giving us the 'report' and while he found the doctor entertaining, it WAS time to eat. In case we weren't keeping track of such things HE was!
The doctor mentioned a cyst on her ovary might be causing some of the pain. She dismissed the notion but I will have to talk to her when she is NOT in pain because until last September I was also into dismissing ovarian cyst pain as inconsequential... NOT any more! The pain was beyond ignoring, beyond breathing thru, beyond 'dealing' with. But that would be a future discussion.
Returned the trailer after going up the wrong road... one that construction began on today... and making at least half a dozen tries at backing up so I could turn around... I did everything I have been taught so I didn't jack-knife the silly thing but it would NOT go the direction I needed it to - Yeesh!!! Then we are on the road that the U Haul place is on, 8 miles of 55mph straight ahead, and I notice that the hood is bouncing - as in NOT latched. I didn't have the hood up but that didn't change the bouncing. Thankfully there was a landscape/feed store on our side a quarter mile down with a horseshoe drive and we pulled off, closed the hood and -after every car in the county went by at 55mph- pulled back on to the road and were on our way, uneventfully to our destination.(we were tight on time and the turning around at the start of the trip seemed an ill omen, especially since Matey intensely dislikes being in his car seat at speeds under 55mph. Grammy doesn't back up at anything close to 5mph so there ya go!
Ever since the wind caught the hood on the Camaro and wrapped it back over the windsheild (on the bridge coming into Vantage) I don't do loose hoods. My darling husband was driving and Heavenly Father brought us thru unscathed , but I will always remember the shock and surprise, and instinctively bending down to look thru that little space above the dash left uncovered by the hood (even though I WAS the passenger) as we left the freeway and creeped up the off-ramp to the gas station! A trucker pulled in behind us and asked if we were ok, he had seen the wind catch the hood and was amazed we stayed on the road/bridge. Makes three of us.
